Thousands of head chef wannabes try out each season for a spot on the FOX reality show Hell's Kitchen with Chef Gordon Ramsay. Sixteen were chosen to compete for $250,000 and the position of Head Chef at Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Eight women make up the Red Team, and eight men make up the Blue Team.
Red Team
Andrea
Andrea, age 30, is currently a Line Cook. She has a Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts Management from the Culinary Institute of America. She has six years of kitchen experience, having worked at Beverly Hills Tavern, White Linen Catering, Sugar Foods, Inc., and The Chef's Toque Catering. Andrea is from Reading, PA.
Carol
Carol is a 30 year old Sous Chef from Knoxville, TN. She has four years of kitchen experience, having worked as a cook, a chef, a kitchen manager, and sous chef. She went to Le Cordon Bleu of Las Vegas.
Coi
Coi is a Cafe Cook from Austin, TX. She is 22 years old and has 8 years experience in the kitchen. She attended school at the Art Institute of Houston.
Colleen
Colleen is a cooking school instructor who is self-taught in the art of cooking. She owns and operates her own cooking school, The Classy Gourmet in Papillion, NE. She is 41, with 14 years of kitchen experience.
Ji
Ji is a private caterer from Palisades Park, NJ. She started working in her father's Korean restaurant when she was 14. She gained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Culinary Arts Management from the Culinary Institute of America. She is 33.
LA
LA, 23, is a Line Cook at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. She attended school at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. She has four years of kitchen experience.
Lacey
Lacey has been working in kitchens off and on for the last six years. She is currently a Corporate Buffet Cook. A Food Network addict, she decided to go to culinary school at her mother's encouragement. She attended Central Piedmont Community College. Lacey is 24, from Charlotte, NC.
Paula
Paula hails from Coconut Creek, FL. She attended school at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. She is an Executive Sous Chef with nine years of kitchen experience.
Blue Team
Ben
Executive Sous Chef Ben has 8 1/2 years of kitchen experience. He is 26 years old and a native of Chicago. He attended culinary school at Kendall College in downtown Chicago. Food is his number one passion.
Charlie
Charlie doesn't look like your stereotypical chef with his piercings and tattoos, but he has almost nine years of experience in the kitchen. He graduated from Western Culinary Institute in Oregon and now works as a Prep Chef in his hometown of Las Vegas. He is 24.
Danny
Danny is a 23 year old redneck Executive Chef from Edgewater, FL. Besides cooking, he spends his time hunting and fishing. He attended Sarasota County Technical Institute and has eight years of kitchen experience.
Giovanni
Giovanni has 20 years of kitchen experience, the most of any of the head chef hopefuls on Hell's Kitchen this season. He is 37 years old and comes from Destin, FL. He is currently an Executive Chef. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America.
J
J attended culinary school at Johnson and Wales University. At 32, he has 12 years of kitchen experience. He is currently a Food Court Chef and he wants to do more. J is from Clifton Park, NY.
Robert
Robert is a 29 year old Sous Chef from Quogue, NY. He attended the American Culinary Academy. He has 12 years of kitchen experience. Robert postponed his wedding to be on Hell's Kitchen.
Seth
Seth is a former employee of the New York Stock Exchange who is now a Private Party Chef in the Hamptons. He is 27, with 6 years of experience in the kitchen. He studied cooking at Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy.
Wil
Wil has 10 professional years of experience in the kitchen although he started cooking at the age of 6. Now 27, he is a Quality Control Chef from Elgin, IL. He attended school at Elgin Community College and Kendall College in Chicago.
