Sixteen chefs have come to Hell's Kitchen for a chance at a head chef position in Whistler, British Columbia. However, hot-tempered Gordon Ramsey stands in their way.

Hell’s Kitchen has returned for a sixth season on FOX. The reality hit features Chef Gordon Ramsey This season, the contestants are fighting for the position of head chef at Araxi Restaurant in Whistler, British Columbia. Whistler is a resort town in the Coastal Mountains and will host many events for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Chef Gordon Ramsey

Chef Gordon Ramsey is known for his perfectionism in the kitchen, as well as his temper. On Hell’s Kitchen, he has no problem berating the contestants when they offer up less than stellar product. However, his attitude is not without purpose. Over the course of a season, the chefs improve and grow enough to take on an executive chef position.

Chef Ramsey maintains three Michelin stars at his restaurant, an honor bestowed on only three chefs in the UK. He began to study culinary arts at 19 and has worked under some of the top chefs in France. He earned his first head chef position in 1993 and opened his own restaurant in 1998.

Sous-Chefs Heather West and Scott Liebfried

Each kitchen has a sous-chef to oversee the team. Scott Liebfried has been the blue kitchen’s sous-chef for all six American seasons of Hell’s Kitchen. Scott is an executive chef in San Diego, where he focuses on a simple style of California cuisine using the freshest ingredients available. This season, the role of red team sous-chef will be taken on by Heather West. Heather was the winner of Hell’s Kitchen season 2. She won a one-year contract with the Red Rock Resort Spa and Casino, where she was a senior chef at their Italian restaurant, Terra Rosa.

Maître d’ Jean-Philippe Susilovic

The one other person that the chefs will have to deal with on a regular basis is maître d’ Jean-Philippe Susilovic. Jean-Philippe appeared on the first season of the UK version of Hell’s Kitchen and has continued his position for all six seasons of the American show. A chef in his own right, Jean-Philippe has strong opinions about what should go on in the dining room and is not afraid to voice them to the contestants.
