Confessions of a Teen Idol Cast Profiles
Former Celebrities Try to Rejuvenate Lost Careers
Reality television meets Hollywood with programs like the ones that VH1 touts as “Celebreality.” These shows feature actors, musicians, and other celebrities who have fallen from grace. Whether they need to lose weight, get sober, find love, or restart their career, VH1 probably has a show just for them.
The most recent addition to the Celebreality lineup is Confessions of a Teen Idol. Seven former celebrities want to get their career going again, and turn to Scott Baio, Jason Hervey, and a team of Hollywood experts for help. The celebrities need to learn what went wrong in their career so that they can avoid the mistakes of their past.
Scott Baio
After two Celebreality shows, Scott Baio is 45 and Single and Scott Baio is 46 and Pregnant, Baio’s own career is starting to move again. Baio is best known for acting in the shows Happy Days and Charles in Charge and for dating a string of actresses and Playboy playmates. Recently, he had a guest spot on the hit show Arrested Development as well as roles in Finish Line and Van Stone: Tour of Duty.
Jason Hervey
Jason Hervey is immediately recognizable as his most famous character, Wayne Arnold from The Wonder Years. Since then, he has had a difficult time breaking free of this hated character and has faced angry fans on multiple occasions. Hervey currently works as a producer and is married to Angela Hart.
The Teen Idols
- Christopher Atkins from The Blue Lagoon - At the age of 19, Christopher Atkins hit the spotlight with a starring role opposite Brooke Shields in The Blue Lagoon. However, after his initial success he seemed stuck in made-for-TV movies.
- David Chokachi from Baywatch - David Chokachi made his name on the hit show Baywatch and a nod as one of People magazine’s 50 most beautiful people. He then acted on the show Witchblade for two seasons.
- Bill Hufsey from Fame - Playing the role of Christopher on Fame helped thrust Bill Hufsey into the spotlight and a singing career. After Fame, he headed to the soap opera Days of our Lives for several seasons.
- Jeremy Jackson from Baywatch - Jeremy Jackson first appeared on the radar by playing David Hasselhoff’s son on Baywatch. He recorded an album after that, but was arrested in 2000 on drug charges.
- Eric Nies from The Real World: New York - One of the pioneers of reality television, Eric Nies turned his time on the first season of The Real World into a television and video career. Nies has been a fashion model, MTV host, and starred in a line of fitness videos.
- Jamie Walters from Beverly Hills, 90210 - Jamie Walters is best known as the musician and bad boy, Ray, from Beverly Hills, 90210. He had an Emmy-nominated song but is now working as a firefighter/paramedic.
- Adrian Zmed from TJ Hooker and Grease 2 - The only one of the idols who is still performing full-time, Zmed works for Princess Cruise Lines where he has a stage show. However, he is still associated with his four seasons on TJ Hooker.
